When tourism innovation is born from technological development

We’ve participated in TourisTalk

In a recent event organized by KPMG España, Jaime Sastre, CEO of Juniper Group, the operational vertical to which we belong, participated in a talk titled: “When Tourism Innovation is Born from Technological Development.” During the session, the discussion explored how digitalization and the implementation of advanced technologies are revolutionizing the tourism sector.

The Technological revolution in tourism

The talk focused on the influence of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, big data, and blockchain in transforming the industry. Jaime Sastre highlighted a crucial point: “Innovation in the tourism sector no longer comes so much from traditional players, but from tech companies that identify needs, have ideas, and develop them.” This trend underscores a significant shift, where tech companies are leading innovation, driving development, and competitiveness in the sector.

The discussion also emphasized the importance of efficient data management for the digital transformation of tourism. Technology is not only improving operational productivity but also enabling companies to offer more valuable, personalized services to their customers. Juan Jesús García, Vice President of Institutional Relations for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Amadeus, pointed out that “improvements in the user experience are being made possible thanks to advances in technologies such as AI and machine learning, which are helping us better understand customers and know what they need at every stage of the journey.”

The event concluded with an optimistic outlook on the future of digitalization in tourism, emphasizing the importance of establishing long-term plans when collaborating with tech partners.
